I read recently that mayo makes a good conditioner. But all I can think of is the smell.Do you have any homemade recipes for shampoo %26amp; conditioner?
Yes mayo is a good conditioner but has to be washed out well so it doesn't leave residue on your hair-you can mask the smell by adding a little vanilla to it. I published a book with tons of recipes for beauty products you can make, ';Beauty and the Budget';. Take a look at my site which is very similar to the book and it has some recipes as well and lots of other tips on makeup and more: http://www.beautyandthebudget.blogspot.c鈥?/a>Do you have any homemade recipes for shampoo %26amp; conditioner?
While I won't call this ';homemade';, I've used lemon dishwashing liquid on my hair. Believe it or not, but it helps with the build-up from other shampoos.
Concerning the mayo, it does work, and quite well, but here's the trick. Use it FIRST before you shampoo. Let it set in your hair for a few minutes, saturating it. Then shampoo it out. This is where the dishwashing liquid comes into play. ';Dawn'; dishwashing liquid is good on grease and will remove all the mayo (and the smell) leaving your hair very soft and shiny.
Have a lovely rest of the day.
home remedies like mayo are meant to be used every-once-in-a-while...not daily. the day you use it, your hair is going to be heavy and flat. i can pretty much guarantee that.
professional shampoos and conditioners are best though. i would try aveda, they have some wonderful all natural hair products. you will get more bang for you buck while helping the environment =)
p.s. not all home remedies are good for your hair. for example, lemon juice----%26gt;not good for your hair! it is actually damaging.
i would also not recommend using ***dish soap*** on your hair. it strips your hair of so many things it needs. and if your hair is colored, it will dull the color and shine! cheap shampoos, such as whiterain %26amp; suave are very much like using dish soap on your hair! cheaper doesn't always = better
